Co-a-Mi by Adela Gray is the work of a Slovak-British painter and architect who divides her time between London and Mallorca. Born in 1982, she grew up during the communist era in Czechoslovakia before moving to Morocco and later Algeria, where the rise of Islamic fundamentalism compelled her family to leave.
Adela studied architecture in Prague and Munich, and began her career in Vienna, before eventually settling in London and pursued studying oil painting and life drawing. She continued to travel with her family until drawn to the natural beauty of Mallorca, she opened her studio on the island, where she found her soul’s sanctuary.
Adela’s art echoes abstract expressionism. Her style depicts movement of time. Her work embraces the idea of life as an endless journey, where the destination is less important than the road itself. She draws inspiration from the nature and travel memories during her formative years.
